United Kingdom - Ofcom publishes list of applicants for local DTT services

Ofcom has published the list of applicants that have tendered to provide local DTT television services and local DTT multiplex services.

In total, Ofcom has received 57 applications for the provision of local television services and 4 applications for the provision of local DTT multiplex services.

Local television services are to be made available in 21 regions as part of the first step in the process. However, applications for the provision of such services have only been received for 19 regions.

The four companies that have applied for the license to provide the DTT network are Avanti Local TV Services, Comux UK, LMux, and Local TV Multiplex. Already, Comux UK has published the details of its bid on its website.

All licences will be awarded by a beauty contest method. Ofcom plans to award the licenses by the end of the year.
