New Zealand - 86% of households have digital television

According to the results of the latest Digital Tracker report, 86% of households have converted to digital television.

This is an increase of two percentage points compared with the previous quarter.

Among the digital households, 33% rely on the free-to-air platform (satellite and DTT) while 19% use both the free-to-air platform and a pay platform.

Most significantly, the intention to convert to digital has increased substantially with 49% either very or fairly likely to do so compared with 37% in the previous quarter.

Awareness of digital switchover is at 90% while 36% are aware of the analogue switch-off date in their region.

The Digital Tracker report covers the period from May to July 2012.
