Poland - TVP calls for discussion on MUX 4 and MUX5

The public service broadcaster TVP is planning to launch two new television programme services, TVP Rozrywka and TVP Dokument, by early 2013.

TVP Rozrywka will offer entertainment content while TVP Dokument will showcase documentaries. Most content will be sourced from TVP's archives.

While these services will be available on the cable and satellite platforms, TVP is now seeking carriage on the DTT platform. Currently, no capacity is available.

TVP has proposed maintaining the capacity it currently has on Multplex 1 for these new services. Multiplex 1 offers services from TVP until 2014 when these services are to be moved to Multiplex 3.

TVP would also like to begin discussions on the launch of a fourth and fifth DTT multiplex.
