2.4 billion DTT receivers to be in use by 2018

According to new report by Global Industry Analysts (GIA), Brazil, Russia, India, and China will drive the DTT receiver market. It anticipates that 2.4 billion DTT receivers will be in use worldwide by 2018.

Free-to-air services are expected will drive the growth of the DTT platform as it has done in many developed countries. However, developed countries have now reached near saturation levels with developing countries set to drive the future DTT receiver market.

Currently, Europe and the United States account for nearly two-thirds of the global market for DTT receivers.
