Italy - Mediaset Premium grows market share

According to the vice-president of Mediaset, Pier Silvio Berlusconi, its pay-DTT service Mediaset Premium is increasing its share of the pay television market.

He attributes the overall decline in the pay television market to the faltering economy, but notes that Mediaset Premium has lost less than its competitors. However, Mediaset Premium will break-even later than previously forecasted.

Pier Silvio Berlusconi also noted that a few foreign investors have expressed an interest in Mediaset Premium although no discussions are currently underway.
