Czech Republic - Telefonica O2 may be required to relinquish operation of MUX 4

The president Vaclav Klaus has signed an amendment to the current Act on Electronic Communications.

The approved amendment limits the network ownership by a single operator. Specifically, one operator cannot run two or more electronic communications network as well as operate a broadcast (television or radio) service.

As a result, this new legislation could require Telefonica O2 to return its DTT license. Currently, the company operates the Multiplex 4 which runs trial DVB-T services.
