Finland - 7 HD/DTT licenses awarded

The government has awarded 7 high-definition broadcast licenses on the DTT platform. These new services will be available using the DVB-T2 standard.

The broadcasters awarded licenses include Discovery Channel (Animal Planet HD), Family Channel Oy, MTV Oy (Canal+ Film HD), MTV Networks AB, Sanoma Television Oy (Nelonen Sport Pro HD), Turner Entertainment Networks, and Viasat Finland AB.

In addition, one broadcast license has been reserved for the public service broadcaster YLE.
