Hungary - 6% DTT penetration

According to the DTT platform operator Antenna Hungaria, 6% of television households access DTT services. In addition, 10% of terrestrial households have converted from analogue to digital.

It is estimated that 2 million households rely on the terrestrial television platform. Currently, digitalisation of the terrestrial television platform is faster than on the cable platform.

Based on figures compiled by GfK, the number of DTT receivers sold has tripled in the past 6 months. This is due to the DTT promotions campaign adn the decreasing price of DTT receivers. In the first quarter of 2010, the average price of an MPEG-4 DVB-T set-top box dropeed by 18%.
