Sweden - Strong growth for Teracom's pay-DTT operations

The broadcast network operator Teracom announced its first quarter results for 2010 with a revenue of SEK 920 million (€95 million). This is an increase of 25% compared with Q1 2009.

According to Teracom, the growth is due to its recent acquisition of the pay-DTT operator PlusTV in Finland and the growth of Boxer's DTT services in Denmark.

In addition, Boxer added 8 new television programme services to its pay-DTT offer in Sweden at the end of 2009. These new services use MPEG-4 AVC compression technology.

Two further DTT networks, using DVB-T2 and MPEG-4 AVC, are expected to roll-out in Sweden this year.
