Italy - EC clears Sky Italia for DTT service launch

According to Broadband TV News, it is anticipated that the European Commission (EC) will give Sky Italia the permission to launch services on the DTT platform.

Such a move had been contested by the commercial broadcaster Mediaset.

As a result of this decision, Sky Italia will be able to launch new services on the DTT platform this year. It is expected that Sky Italia will provide up to 6 new DTT services.
