Australia - ASO awareness over 90% country-wide
The Digital Switchover Taskforce has published its Digital Tracker for the first quarter of 2010 (January to March). According to the Digital Tracker, 68% of households now converted to digital.
This is an increase of 7% in comparison with the previous quarter.
The region of Mildura/Sunraysia has the highest rate of digital conversion with 87% of households watching digital television. This region will be the first to complete digital switchover on 30 June 2010.
Digital conversion is lowest in the region of remote central and eastern Australia with only 47% digital households.
In all regions, the awareness about digital switchover is 90% or higher.
Analogue switch-off is expected to be completed by 2013.
