Broadcast network operators have set up a new group, Broadcast Networks Europe, to help lobby their interest vis-à-vis EU policy makers and stakeholders. A total of 20 European countries are represented in the membership. Bernard Pauchon (TDF) and Lars Backlund (Teracom) have been designated Chairman and Vice-Chairman respectively.

Broadcast Networks Europe will allow terrestrial broadcast network operators to develop a coordinate approach to such policy issues as spectrum, interference, and the development of terrestrial television and radio services.
