United Kingdom - ITV HD to offer regional content

The broadcaster ITV has been issued licenses to broadcast regional versions of its recently launched HD service.

Ofcom has issued ITV with six regional licenses which include Central, Granada/Border, Meridian/Anglia, London, Wales/West and Yorkshire/Tyne Tees. This means that content specific to each region will be made available to viewers.

ITV HD officially launched on the DTT platform on 2 April. It is expected to reach 50% coverage by June 2010.
