United Kingdom - 10.1 million DTT-only households

Ofcom has published the its Digital Television Update for the fourth quarter of 2009. According to the report, 91.4% of households access digital television services on their primary television sets.

In addition, nearly 69% of all secondary television sets have been converted to digital.

In the fourth quarter, 4.7 million DTT receivers were sold which is the highest quarterly sales thus far and up by 6% on Q4 2008. Of these, 74% were iDTVs. In 2009 nearly 13.7 million DTT receivers were sold, compared to 12.5 million in 2008.

Approximately 10.1 million households rely on the DTT platform for their primary television services which represents nearly 40% of all television households. A total of 28.5 million television sets are DTT-enabled.
