Italy - Mediaset Premium revenues increase by 38.9%

The commercial broadcaster Mediaset has issued its earning results for 2009. Its pay-DTT service, Mediaset Premium continues to generate high revenues for the broadcaster.

According to Mediaset, Mediaset Premium generated total revenues of €560.6 million which is an increse of 38.9% in comparison with 2008 when revenue reached €403.7 million.

As of 31 December 2009, there were a total of 3.7 million active cards compared with 2.9 million cards at the end of 2008. The success of 2009 is all the more impressive given that on 30 June 2009 more than 2 million Premium cards had expired.
