Estonia - ASO to take place in 2010

Following the approval of a draft amendment to the Broadcasting Act, analogue switch-off is set to take place in June 2010. This is 18 months earlier than previously announced.

It is estimated that 200,000 households rely on the terrestrial platform for their primary television reception.

In addition, a digital switchover pilot was completed on 31 March on the island of Ruhnu. All analogue television services were switched off and viewers can now only access digital services on the terrestrial platform.
